Epoxy and Garage Floor Coatings in Ocala
An epoxy floor coating is a hard resin finish bonded to concrete that protects it from stains and wear and makes it easy to clean. We install epoxy, polyaspartic and metallic coatings for homeowners and businesses in Ocala and nearby Central Florida towns, on garages, shops, commercial floors, pool decks, patios and lanais.
Garage Floor Coatings
A garage floor coating seals bare concrete against oil, dust and hot tire marks, and it cleans up with a mop. Full-flake polyaspartic is one of the most popular choices for Florida garages, with epoxy and metallic epoxy as other options. See our garage floor coatings page for each system, our process, cure times and what affects the cost.
Epoxy Flooring

Epoxy is a two-part resin that bonds to prepared concrete and cures into a thick, hard layer. It’s a good fit for Florida homes and businesses with indoor floors that take a lot of use, such as garages, workshops, laundry rooms, storage rooms and utility spaces.
Epoxy is strong and has a long working time, which helps on large and decorative floors. Its main weakness is sunlight: standard epoxy can yellow in UV light.
For a Florida garage where the door is open much of the day, that usually means an epoxy base with a UV-stable topcoat, or a full polyaspartic system instead.
Polyaspartic Flake Floors
A polyaspartic flake floor uses a polyaspartic coating, a member of the polyurea family, with vinyl flake broadcast into it and a clear topcoat over the top. It’s one of the most popular choices for garage floors.
Polyaspartic cures much faster than epoxy, so floors are usually back in use sooner. It also holds its color in sunlight. The tradeoff is less working time during the install and, usually, a higher material cost than a basic epoxy coat.
Flake comes in many color blends. A busier blend hides dust and tire marks better, which helps on Central Florida garage floors that see sand tracked in every day.
Metallic Epoxy
Metallic epoxy mixes metallic pigments into the epoxy and moves them while it’s still wet, giving a marbled, three-dimensional look that resembles polished stone or flowing water. No two floors come out the same.
It suits showrooms, offices, salons, home bars and living areas.
Because each floor is made by hand, you can’t preview the exact pattern. A glossy metallic finish shows scratches and dust more than flake does, and it needs very careful surface prep. Metallic floors are best indoors, out of direct Florida sun, or under a UV-stable clear topcoat.
Commercial and Industrial Coatings

Commercial and industrial coatings protect concrete in warehouses, shops, garages, service bays, showrooms and back-of-house areas. The right system depends on what the floor has to handle: forklift and cart traffic, chemical or oil spills, frequent washing, or customers walking through.
We match the coating thickness, finish and texture to how the space is used.
Downtime is often the biggest concern for a business. Faster-curing systems like polyaspartic can shorten it, and we can talk through scheduling in phases. Many Central Florida buildings sit on slab-on-grade concrete, so we check for moisture before recommending a system.
Pool Deck Coatings
A pool deck coating renews stained or rough concrete around a pool with a finish that’s comfortable for bare feet. It suits decks that are structurally sound but look worn.
Around a pool, slip resistance comes first. Pool deck systems use texture, grit or flake so the surface grips when wet.
Central Florida pool decks get strong sun all year, so the coating has to be UV-stable, and color choice matters. Lighter colors stay noticeably cooler underfoot than dark ones.
Cracks and loose spots get repaired before coating. Badly worn decks may need concrete resurfacing first.
Patio and Lanai Coatings
A patio or lanai coating seals the concrete, adds color and texture, and makes outdoor space easier to clean. It suits covered lanais, screened porches and open patios.
Outdoor coatings need to hold up to sun, rain and heat, so we use UV-stable systems that won’t yellow. A textured finish adds grip when afternoon storms blow rain in under the screen. On a sunny lanai, lighter colors also stay cooler underfoot than dark ones.
Even covered lanais in Central Florida get low-angle sun and constant humidity. If you need a new patio poured first, see concrete patios. We can pour it and come back to coat it once the concrete has cured.
Concrete Resurfacing
Concrete resurfacing puts a new surface over existing concrete that’s worn, stained, pitted or flaking but still structurally sound. It suits pool decks, patios, walkways and garage floors that look tired but aren’t cracked through or sinking.
A resurfacer is a thin, bonded layer that gives a fresh, even surface at less cost and disruption than tearing out and repouring.
Resurfacing only works if the concrete underneath is stable. Slabs that have heaved, sunk or broken apart, which can happen with Central Florida’s sandy soil and heavy rain, need concrete replacement and repair instead.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What's the difference between epoxy and polyaspartic?
- Epoxy cures more slowly, which gives more working time for decorative work, but it can yellow in direct sun. Polyaspartic cures much faster and holds its color in UV light, so it suits garages with the door open and outdoor areas. Many floors use an epoxy base with a polyaspartic topcoat.
- How soon can I use my garage after it's coated?
- It depends on the system and the weather. Polyaspartic floors usually take foot traffic sooner than epoxy, often the next day, and parking a car usually waits a few more days. We'll give you exact times before the job starts.
- Will a coated pool deck or lanai be slippery?
- Any smooth coating can be slippery when wet, so outdoor floors get a textured finish from flake, a grit additive in the topcoat, or both. We'll show you the texture options before you choose.
- How much does an epoxy floor coating cost?
- Cost depends on the size of the floor, how much crack repair and grinding it needs, whether the slab has a moisture problem, and which system and finish you choose. We'll give you a price after we see the floor.
